Nitro Sets Sights on the Business Cloud; Secures $3.5 Million from Starfish Ventures
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – April 3, 2012 – Nitro, a creator of intuitive solutions that enable people to work smarter, today announced that it has secured $3.5 million in funding from Starfish Ventures to fuel aggressive product innovation and recruitment during 2012. This inaugural round of institutional financing will allow the Company to support a rapidly growing global user base and empower advancements for its collaborative cloud roadmap. Bootstrapped and profitable since 2005, Australian-founded Nitro was conceived with the vision to simplify the way people create, edit, sign, and share digital documents. Most recognizable for their award-winning Nitro Pro and Nitro Reader, Nitro has grown to exceed 3 million unique active monthly users and over 250,000 paying customers — encompassing consumers, small- to medium- sized businesses, and Fortune 500 enterprises.

With plans to shake up the business cloud, Nitro will use the $3.5m investment to double headcount during 2012 with an anticipated 50 new hires, including the establishment of a dedicated cloud engineering team in its San Francisco headquarters. The funding will enable Nitro deliver on its vision to revolutionize the way people work with document solutions that are intuitive, intelligent, and simple.
