Huawei Hopes To Ship One Million Cloud-based Vision Handsets This Year

Huawei Technologies Co Ltd , the world’s No.2 network equipment maker, aims to ship a million of its newly-launched cloud-based “Vision” smartphone handsets this year, a senior executive said on Wednesday.

Victor Xu, chief strategy and marketing officer, told reporters on the sidelines of the smartphone launch that it also hoped to maintain shipment growth momentum in the second half for its consumer devices unit.

Global shipments by Huawei Device, the division that makes cellphones, tablet PCs and wireless cards, increased by nearly 40 percent to 72 million units in the first half, Huawei said in a statement.
